CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 2.5 based on 3 reviews)
| Don't Buy This I am a huge Oasis fan, I thought this video would be awesome. It has zero interviews from any actual band members. I think they have a small maybe 25 second comment from Noel as he is walking out of Heathrow or some airport. Other than that the DVD talks to friends of the Gallagher brothers and random people that met them during their rise to the top of the 90s Brit Pop era.
You are better off looking up info on Oasis on wikipedia or the band's website. Don't waste your money. And if you already have - Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
April 29, 2008 | | Wicked DVD on Oasis Goes back to where they grew up, talking to their mates and other musicians from the Manchester scene (including Clint Boon from the Inspiral Carpets and Paulo Hewitt), discussing the story of how they met, and their opinions of the band. There is loads of footage of their home turf, and although there's no music, there are plenty of photos and interviews. There's a quiz at the end of the DVD and I really enjoyed doing it! November 29, 2005 | | Informative But Boring I am a huge Oasis fan and look to get my hands on anything that pertains to the band. I bought Sibling Rivalry thinking I would probably get to see some old or obscure interviews and performances of the band outlined by their story. Unfortunatley, that is not the case. There is very little input from Oasis. Most of what you will see of them are still shot pictures and very rarely some talking (I would say less than 5 minutes). There is also no music by the band. There is music, but it is terrible and sounds like a generic version of Oasis.
Their story is told by people that new them during their rise to stardom and beyond. While most the information given is interesting and accurate, it is presented in such a boring fashion that it is difficult to watch. It is basically people that you have never heard of in stationary locations giving their memories of the band. It isn't so bad at first, but after a while becomes brutal to maintian concentration.
I would only recommend this dvd to the hardest of the hardcore fans. Right now, however, I would personally recommend buying the Live Forever dvd as you will get much more input from the band and find it very interesting and entertaining. Let's just hope Vh1 does a Behind The Music special. July 10, 2005 | |
