Product Description

His marriage plans fizzled, so Floridaphile serial killer Serge A. Storms is on a new mission: to convince the West Coast movie industry bigwigs to do their business in his beloved Sunshine State. So it's off to Tinseltown with his substance-sustained sidekick, Coleman—to schmooze with craven cokehead producers and visiting Yakuza, who are wrestling to salvage the most disastrous big-budget stinkeroo in the history of celluloid . . . and to radically reduce the rampaging population of true Hollywood slimeballs.

Tim's best yet!!!
For those unfamiliar with Tim Dorsey's work and his recurring character Serge... well then you need to crawl out from under a rock and climb back into you grave. Tim's books are a grab you by your throat, laughter inducing, piss running down your leg riot! This one in particlar is my favorite, seeing as I'm a HUGE film buff and that happens to be Serge's big beef in this one is filmmaking. I don't want to give anything away here, so I'll just do what I always do and make my comparison the way only I can.

If Quentin Tarantino and Dave Barry had a kid together and it was raised by Courtney Love... that kid would read "The Big Bamboo"!

Why People Stare at me on Planes
This one is the best so far. Of course, I've said this with every TD book that comes out. What a joy to have someone who loves history like I do and loves to laugh at us humans!

I'm used to people staring when I've laughing my head off.

Not bad, but....
Not as good as his previous books. Hopefully he's not slipping into the mediocrity that Hiassen has fallen into with some of his recent books.

Another Masterpiece
We just can't get enough of Mr. Dorsey and Serge. They are both just plain sick, which we find rather enjoyable. Most people compare him to other famous Florida authors but I find him much more enjoyable. The pace is absolutely frenetic, like Serge. Been too busy to read lately but I finished off both Big Bamboo and Hurricane Punch over the weekend.
