Product Description

Spence Tailor, a lawyer with an actual set of principals, loves his mama, Rose. Rose—with advanced cardiomyopathy and a rare blood type—is scheduled for a heart transplant. But when the president's heart craps out during a photo op three months before the national election, the White House chief of staff orders the FBI to seize the heart that was going to Rose—all in the name of democracy. But Spence isn't about to let anybody steal what rightfully belongs to his mom. So with the help of his reluctant older brother, they hijack the heart, inadvertently kidnap a beautiful cardiac surgery resident, and take to the road in a '65 Mustang—with all the president's men in potentially murderous pursuit.

Fitzhugh
In "Heart Seizure" Fitzhugh has done it again. He is the master of fast paced, frenetic comedy of the zany sort. The irony of it all is, this COULD happen. But read it for yourself!

Transplant a Fitzhugh Book to Replace that Boring Book You Are Reading
Heart Seizure isn't as fast paced or surreal as Fitzhugh's previous organ transplant masterpiece novel, Organ Grinders. Heart Seizure is still a great fun adventure, just a bit slower paced. Also check out Fitzhugh's other sensational surreal novels full of Carl Hiaasen type characters - Pest Control(insect exterminator mistaken for hit man), Cross Dressing(advertising man forced to adopt his priest brother's identity) and Fender Benders(hilarious look at the country music industry). His less surreal but still entertaining radio DJ/murder mystery solving adventures Radio Activityand Highway 61 Resurfaced: A Novel are also great reads as well. Check all of Fitzhugh's work.

In Heart Seizure a grandmother (Rose) desperately needs a heart transplant to survive. She's got a rare blood type and is finally at the top of the list for a heart, which is a good thing as she can't last many more days. Fortunately for her someone has died and the heart is ready for her but as she's out cold awaiting surgery her son Spence learns the heart is going to a queue jumper. Spence assumes some rich guy has stolen his mother's heart so decides to steal it back taking a policeman and transplant resident surgeon hostage in his getaway. With his unconscious mum in the back of the car with the hostages, his reluctant brother beside him Spence really has no idea what he's going to do except save his mum. The heart was actually stolen for the president, who the public is told has only fainted but in reality will be dead shortly without the organ. Throw in other corrupt and inept politicians and public servants, gullible and unethical journalists, a determined wife, dim witted CIA agents, Mormons as well as others and you've got another great Fitzhugh adventure.

First time with this author and "boy i'll tell ya what" it will not be the last time. this book was absolutely hysterical, it was a believable unbelievable premise. want a good chuckle at the expense of everything that is done in the guise of political correctness, enjoy
