Excelent for biomedical engineers  
It's an extremely complete book, in both technical and clinical aspects in mechanical ventilation. Excelent material for biomedical engineers, specially for teaching doctors/nurses.

Principles and Practice of Mechanical Ventilation  
Great overview of traditional and non-traditional modes of mechanical ventilation. Including volu-trauma, and discussion of pressure controled modes of ventilation. Excellent overall book on the subject of adult mechanical ventilation.
