Much better than any NSAID
As a sufferer of Ankylosing Spondylitis, I had been following with some success a hunter-gatherer/caveman diet for the last two years. Results included getting my weight down close to my ideal weight (within 1kg by BMI) and a reduction in the peaks of arthritic pain in the back and associated joints.

However, it wasn't until reading Carol Sinclair's book that I began to realise how much of the 'bad carbs' had still been getting through, and causing unexpected and painful flareups. Sinclair identifies with her readers in a way only a fellow sufferer can. Her plain sense approach to the issue is refreshing in an area frequently bogged down by experts touting their own carpetbagging medicine. Recipes are simple and perhaps a little less gourmet than one might want, but they are there to be improved upon, and have been by this reader.

I would recommend this book to anyone with a chronic condition like rheumatoid arthritis, IBS etc. Learn the problems that starch has for your body, and take up where 2.5 million years of evolution left us before 10,000 years of agriculture took its toll.

What a relief!!
My wife literally tripped over this book in a bookstore. As avid bookreaders, we both read the beginning of the book in absolute amazement, as the story could have been hers, not the authors'.

In clear, concise language, this author has unveilled what medical science was unable to do for far too many years. It explains what the problem is, what causes it, what effects it has on the human body, what the symproms are, and why the myriad symptoms are regularly mis-diagnosed by the medical profession.

By following the changes in this book, my wife was restored to good health after more than a decade of pain, discomfort and lethargy. I also benefitted through weightloss and generally better health.

Buy this book. I do not have any reservations in reccomending it to you wholehartedly. Buy this book!!

Definite Destruction of Digestive Demons!
Buy this book. I tend to be over-elaborate and unnecessarily loquacious when writing reviews, and I know that no-one, except the very, very bored, will read to the end of my self-indulgent solioquy here, so I thought I'd get the most important thhing in first.

You really must buy it - if you have all or any of the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I can't recommend it highly enough. I have had crippling IBS for over four years, and have seen doctors, specialists, herbalists, even therapists, I have taken supplements, I have taken things out of my diet, and I have taken a lot of abuse for the amount of time I spend being in a disgusting mood because of the unrelenting pain, bloating, and terrible toilet traumas. Nothing has helped me.

Until last November when I stumbled across this book...

I know this sounds to be a nauseatingly cliched claim, but it really, really can change your life - i.e. it can give you control of yours back - in a very short period of time. I started to see an enormous reduction of symptoms within days, and after two weeks, i had a complete remission. The low-starch diet is surprisingly easy to adapt to once you've got over the first few days when you want to shout a lot and throw things (invest in paper plates), and, furthermore , really rather nice. Chocolate, cheese, and alcohol are all allowed, and positively encouraged, and the book includes a comprehensive recipe book with loads of lovely meat and fish dishes, salads, and deserts.

The book is very well written, with lots of interesting information about digestion and nutrition. The diet's nutritional virtues are extolled very convincingly and credibly, and the book includes a fascinating account of how the contemporary 'normal' Western diet developed , and why it is so bad for both IBS sufferers and health in general. It is all scientifically validated, and very accessible, so everyone, even those like me with no scientific knowledge whatsoever, can understand it. Furthermore, the author herself suffered with the dieasease for many years, so you really feel she understands exactly how bad it can be - and how enormously better life is once you have a cure. She has been symptom free for years.

You can also expect a general health increase after a month or so - more energy, better skin and hair, and an improved ability to withstand the cold - I was always freezing until I started this diet, but no longer. Apparently, it is sort of similar to an Eskimo diet, although I have not started to resemble one - I was not overweight before I started the diet, but I have lost weight and it has remained off. Anybody overweight who did it would return to a normal weight and stay at it.

So, incase you have not even bothered to read the first line and have just scrolled down to the end, I just have one thing left to say - buy the book!
