Product Description
Lessons from the personal experience and reflections of a therapist.

Being a therapist requires an exploration of one's inner world and private thoughts as much as it does going to graduate school. In this book, an experienced therapist takes readers on a journey inside the hearts and minds of therapists to provide students and beginning therapists with a new way of thinking about doing psychotherapy.

The Making of a Therapist Review
The Making of a Therapist is a must read for any student of psychotherapy! In his down to earth manner, Colozino, an experienced therapist describes the challenges that all beginners in this field come across in their practice. He encourages, eliminates unnessessary fears and educates the counseling student. He outlines what basic skills must be mastered and makes the reader aware that in order to be successful in dealing with other peoples' issues, you must be dealing with your own on a daily basis. Easy to read and understand; a challenge to do!

We are not infallible after all.....
As a newcomer to the practice of therapy I found this book inspirational. Louis has a way of being human, honest, funny and presenting most of the ups and downs that encompass the experience of the training psychologist. Some great tips for maintaining the space between you and your client as well....enjoy as the real work begins.

Superb book. Superb writer. Superb therapist?
I'd bet he is.

First of all, this is an excellently written book. It must have been daunting to try to pull off turning the information he provided into such a imminently readable book. But the author hit it out of the park with his writing abilities, knowledge and expertise. I'll be referring to this book for years.

Cozolino leaves very few stones unturned for the beginning psychotherapist.

So, if you're looking for a primer on psychotherapy, I literally can't imagine a better book to begin with.

Fantastic job Dr. Cozolino.
