EDITORIAL REVIEWS

Product Description
Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley is a long way from Hollywood. And that’s exactly how Cilla McGowan wants it. Cilla, a former child star who has found more satisfying work as a restorer of old houses, has come to her grandmother’s farmhouse, tools at her side, to rescue it from ruin. Sadly, no one was able to save her grandmother, the legendary Janet Hardy. An actress with a tumultuous life, Janet entertained glamorous guests and engaged in decadent affairs—but died of an overdose in this very house more than thirty years earlier. To this day, Janet haunts Cilla’s dreams. And during waking hours, Cilla is haunted by her melodramatic, five-times-married mother, who carried on in the public spotlight and never gave her a chance at a normal childhood. By coming east, rolling up her sleeves, and rehabbing this wreck of a house, Cilla intends to find some kind of normalcy for herself.
Plunging into the project with gusto, she’s almost too busy to notice her neighbor, graphic novelist Ford Sawyer—but his lanky form, green eyes, and easy, unflappable humor (not to mention his delightfully ugly dog, Spock) are hard to ignore. Determined not to perpetuate the family tradition of ill-fated romances, Cilla steels herself against Ford’s quirky charm, but she can’t help indulging in a little fantasy.
But love and a peaceful life may not be in the cards for Cilla. In the attic, she has found a cache of unsigned letters suggesting that Janet Hardy was pregnant when she died—and that the father was a local married man. Cilla can’t help but wonder what really happened all those years ago. The mystery only deepens with a series of intimidating acts and a frightening, violent assault. And if Cilla and Ford are unable to sort out who is targeting her and why, she may—like her world-famous grandmother— be cut down in the prime of her life.

Sorry Nora...
Sorry, Nora, but I couldn't even finish this one. I gave up halfway through and just skipped to the end to find out who the "bad guy" was. It just seemed like this one was so much like many that have come before it, and neither of the main characters grabbed me at all. Plus it was just plain boring. I'm truly disappointed because I am a huge fan, but the past few hardback offerings have been sub-par.

A Great Summer Read
Ms. Roberts has another hit on her hands with Tribute
I really liked both main characters Ford and Cilla and all the supporting characters. I really liked how she developed Cilla's character throughout the novel from some one who is very insecure about herself and the people who are closest to her and I especially liked the relationship development between Cilla and her father. I liked how Ford wore down Cilla and how his easy going manner and his realness helped to I guess the best word is heal Cilla. And I would never have guessed who the tormentor was. I think the only thing I might have changed was to maybe have Janet visit Cilla in one of her "dream scenes" after the case was closed I would have liked to know if Janet knew what happened.
Any way great read

Another Great Read
This is another great story by Nora Roberts. Her last stand alone book was a little light on romance, but this book steps it up quite a bit. I liked the chemistry between the two main characters, and the mystery was interesting. I can't see how anyone who enjoys this type of novel would ever give this a one star rating. The characters are engaging and the hero is well-rounded and different enough from the typical hero to make him one of the better heroes created by Roberts.

One of my favorites from Nora
Lovely summer read. I guessed who the bad guy was as soon as we met the character, but I think that's just because I'm familiar with her style. This is the first book EVER that I've finished, then immediately turned to the beginning and started again. Loved the characters!

Fantastic!
I always look forward to another Nora Roberts. Tribute was a story that keeps Nora at the top of her game!

The hero was just super. He was not your typical gung-ho macho hero, but completely and totally lovable. His quirky humor, his absence of mechanical abilities, his dog, his slight (very slight) nerdiness all combined to make him an unique hero. I fell in love with him immediately.

The heroine was so strong and determined to succeed despite her feelings of past failures. It was fascinating to read of her efforts to both restore and make her grandmother's house her own. My mind boogled at the expense she incurred to remodel this house.

Nora's secondary characters were the best! They seemed so solid with each other. Of course, now I hope that there will be a sequel so that a couple of the secondary characters can have their own story.

One can only hope!!
