Product Description
The Wave is based on a true incident that occured in a high school history class in Palo Alto, California, in 1969.

The powerful forces of group pressure that pervaded many historic movements such as Nazism are recreated in the classroom when history teacher Burt Ross introduces a "new" system to his students. And before long "The Wave," with its rules of "strength through discipline, community, and action, " sweeps from the classroom through the entire school. And as most of the students join the movement, Laurie Saunders and David Collins recognize the frightening momentum of "The Wave" and realize they must stop it before it's too late.

The Wave in a nutshell
The Wave is a book about a High School history teacher who is asked a question about the Nazis, which he can not answer. Later that day, he studies up about the Nazi's education policies and develops a "social experiment" witch he enacts on his students, and basically brain washes many of them within quite a small period of time.

As many of you know, The Wave was based on a true story. The first time you hear the story its interesting and you just want to know more, but the times after that it just becomes too generic and repetitive. Also, the book places itself for a "big bang" at the ending, which is surprising the first time, but unfortionatly soon after the book ends with a weak, abrupt ending. My final verdict is that the book is not that bad, and i would advise you to read it; however, try to find the book used or on a bargan shelf because you will not find yourself reading it again and again.

Dorky, not believable, yet interesting.....
I wish that this book would have gone more in depth. I find it difficult to believe that during one class period, one teacher had managed to completely distort an entire high school. Maybe I'm just being cynical, but isn't this book teaching you to be cynical? So I guess I didn't miss the point at least.

It's worth the read. I read it in about two hours.

Loved It!
I knew this was a great book when I found myself upset that it was only 138 pages. My only complaint is that the ending was a bit anti-climactic. However, this was only a minor issue. I loved the book; it was definitely thought-provoking and worth reading.

Everyone should understand what happen here
A true story that reviles human fragility and what can happen through community, discipline and action.

Wave on Wave
This book was a page-turner. I couldn't put it down. I kept reading it until my eyes hurt. I would not have any problem reading the book again. It was hard to put it down, because I wanted to see what was going to happen next. I would definitely recommend this book. I would recommend it to everyone who finds it. Everyone would like it. It is good for everyone. The book was not boring at all. It gave information about the Nazis. It was hard for it to be boring. It was not predictable, you could not predict what was going to happen next.
