Product Description
A sparkling entry in the New York Times bestselling Born In trilogy.

The story of modern-day Ireland's Concannon sisters continues with the tale of Brianna--whose cool beauty hides a heart of fiery passion.

Amazon.com
Brianna Concannon is a woman with a rare gift for creating a home, and she makes use of this talent by running a bed-and-breakfast in a picturesque corner of Ireland. Mystery writer Grayson Thane is an American who grew up in an orphanage and has spent his life alone. A restless wanderer with a painful past, Grayson arrives at Blackthorn Cottage intent only on soaking up the Irish atmosphere and writing his next novel, but he finds far more than he bargained for. The beautiful, calm Brianna soothes his disquiet soul, and in her Grayson finds the home he hadn't realized he needed. Brianna knows that by falling for him, she risks her heart, already bruised and scarred by a young love who left her at the altar. But the yearning to let the American melt the ice around her cold exterior is irresistible. Unless Grayson can let go of his past to forge a future with her, Brianna may have gambled her heart in vain.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 57 reviews)

The story was plodding and predictable.
It felt like a "formulaic romance novel." It had the necessary ingredients but I don't remember smiling at anything. Questions were raised and then they were logically answered later. The characters' conversations were predictable. Nothing surprised or delighted me. I was annoyed that the author used the phrase "you see" too often. This book is the 2nd in the "Born In" series. The best parts of this story were the few scenes involving Maggie, the main character from the 1st book "Born in Fire." I gave 5 stars to "Born in Fire" and 3.5 stars to "Born in Shame."

Brianna grew up in a large house in a village in Western Ireland. She inherited it from her father and converted it into a Bed & Breakfast. Her talents are cooking, cleaning, decorating the home, gardening and caring for others. Grayson is an American novelist who rents a room there for six months while he writes another book.

Sexual Language: mild. Number of sex scenes: five. Setting: current day village of Kilmihil, County Clare, west coast of Ireland. Copyright: 1995. Genre: contemporary romance.

Born in Ice by Nora Roberts
This was the second in the Born In Trilogy and I enjoyed it as much as I had the first book (Born in Fire).
Once again, I listened to the audio version and I became immersed in the characters. I love how Nora Roberts bring back the two main characters from the first book, more like a continuation of the first book with the story line focusing on the second sister while still letting the reader (listener) keep up with the first set of characters.

Born In Ice
Brianna Concannon is a woman who hates conflict. She spent so much of her life trying to keep peace in her family that she just wants a quiet existence. After being left right before her wedding, she now owns a bed and breakfast deciding to cater to the needs of others. Brianna is an artist in her own right being a whiz in the kitchen, and garden, but yet maintains complete control over everything including her emotions.

Grayson Thane is a very popular writer inspired with the surrounding town. He decides to make the small inn his temporary residence until his new book is finished. Grayson had a terrible childhood and avoids relationships and commitment on any level. When Grayson and Brianna meet, it is bringing together two damaged lost souls.

Grayson and Brianna didn't seem to be a very interesting couple. It was more a meeting of the timid. She is portrayed as a saint image, and he more a little lost boy. It didn't made for very interesting interaction.

Another great Book by Nora Roberts
The Story is another good one by Nora Roberts. I bought this book in Audio Form and I did enjoy it. I just wish the Narator, Fiacre Douglas, would have spoken a little slower and taken his time. I loved his Irish Accent, but I felt that he was "raceing" through the book.
