EDITORIAL REVIEWS

Product Description
This text is designed to be used for an undergraduate course on cancer. It covers everything from the molecular to the clinical aspects of the subject, and has a lengthy bibliography designed to assist newcomers with the cancer literature. An introduction acquaints students with the biological principles of cancer and the human dimensions of the disease by considering genuine cases of cancer in fictionalized letters. Other chapters discuss cancer pathology, metastasis, carcinogenesis, genetics, oncogenes and tumor suppressors, epidemiology, and the biological basis of cancer treatment. The book includes an appendix with a description of selected cancers. A glossary of cancer-related terms is included. Upper-division undergraduates with a background in freshman biology and chemistry, as well as beginning graduate students will find this a most useful text.

can't afford not reading it
It's a great book, definitely.Interesting and easy to understand,it's the best for a starter-a scientest to be.On the other hand,it's not lacking depth at all. What makes it more informative is that it provides lots of clinical studies where you have a real feeling of human cancer.

This is a great book, it is very informative and interesting
I am a student at the University of MN and I am taking the Biology of Cancer course from Dr. McKinnell. I have enjoyed this book very much and find that the information provided gives me an understanding that has helped me realize how deadly cancer is and how I can live my life to prevent it. I recommend it highly.
