EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a sleeping disorder that affects millions of people but which has only recently come to widespread public attention. Fortunately, an effective therapy called continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) can treat it. Simply blowing air into people’s noses at night gives them new, improved rest and silences their characteristic snoring. Unfortunately, the adjustment period for this therapy is not of short duration, and most people give up in the early stages, before they can reap maximum, if any, benefit. Who can blame them? They must admit to snoring and then wade through a morass of tests and insurance red tape, all to obtain the pleasure of wearing a not-so-form-fitting mask every night—one guaranteed to thwart alien abductions. Author Mike Moran, who also suffers from Obstructive Sleep Apnea, offers a comforting and humorous resource for everyone dealing with the difficulties of this disorder—and its treatment. This Book Blows is for all the true “hose heads” who need to know they aren’t alone in their quest for a good night’s sleep! |

| a humorous look at cpap therapy If your looking for a book that solves your problems, this isnt for you. However if youve struggled at all (and I think we all have), this book lets you know your not alone and gives a humorous look at cpap therapy. If your frustrated or not, this book will let(make) you laugh at cpap. November 05, 2008 | | Laughter is Good Medicine..... As a CPAP educator I would have to agree w/ C.K. Humor is good medicine and it gives the person going through this an opportunity to laugh. Hopefully a good educator or fellow CPAP user has already presented and proven all of the reasons to continue to be compliant w/ this therapy (that's educator language for "use the CPAP"). This book does not profess to be a saving grace or educational material; and yes it is "sophomoric" in it's humor at times. But actually I can see where writing this was theraputic for it's author and the laughs it provides might give a tattered beginner or an person who has strayed away from their therapy the relaxation from laughter & the patience with themselves and their situation to go onto better / more frequent CPAP use. I think it's actually quite clever in it's conception !!! I am for more humor in this world & taking ourselves a little less seriously; while doing what we must do to function in this world. Two thumbs up ! October 17, 2008 | | UH Sorry to say as a CPAP educator I was hopeful this would help out with the trials and tribs of a new CPAP user. The book is aptly titled. It is more a joke book on CPAP use. January 19, 2008 | | Funny But Probably Not Worth The Read Some clever writing concerning the use of CPAP as therapy for OSA. Most of the humor is a little juvenile. I would not recommend this book. December 17, 2007 | | FUNNY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR REAL LIFE ADVICE AND TIPS, THIS IS NOT THE BOOK FOR YOU. THIS IS PURE COMEDY. AS A FELLOW 'HOSE HEAD' I ENJOYED THE BOOK AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT. February 15, 2007 | |
