Good Introduction of Chemistry for kids
This is a good introduction to Chemistry for young children. The experiments are easy to do and materials for the experiment are easy to find.

Always answer "yes" and you are done
I actually really have enjoyed the experiments, and my son has, too, for the most part, but I have to say that I'm disappointed that EVERY question posed for the experiment has the answer "YES." It doesn't take long to predetermine the answer (it's always "yes") and look for it or to try to force it.

I agree with the other reviewers that the experiments are all very simple to perform (with one or two minor exceptions), and require basic materials easy to find at a grocery store. I have found them to be great learning lessons for simple observations and learning very basic chemistry, especially for children with minimal chemistry experience.

However, I feel I must hide the book from my son so that he does not see the expected results in the simple drawings before our experiment is done. And again, I am unsure of the wisdom of posing questions that all have the same answer. That said, this book should probably be purely a teacher's guide and probably never shown to the child, which is not how I had first interpreted it.

Beware - (V. 5: Adventures With Science) (Library Binding) is NOT Book 5
These are great books overall - simple chemistry experiments covering materials (household items), procedures, observations, and discussions.

Books 1-5 do not progress in difficulty. Each book provides different experiments to compliment things learned in previous books.

Adventures with Atoms and Molecules
Wonderful hands on chemistry experiments and lessons for children. I used it for 3rd grade chemistry in homeschool. The lessons are easy to follow and most experiments use materials you have around the house.

Adventures with Atoms and Molecules book 1
We are loving this book it has easy to do experiments that are fun yet simple enough to do without a lot of planning time. I would definetly recommend this book to others who are seeking a first glimpse into chemistry with young kids. I am currently using this book with my 5yr., 6 yr. and 8 yr. olds and they all are excited to do more experiments.
