EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description
Practical Neuroangiography, Second Edition is a complete, concise, current, practical, and richly illustrated guide to diagnostic and interventional neuroangiography and neurovascular disease. Techniques and safety chapters take readers through the actual hands-on experience in the angiography suite and specifically address issues concerning patient safety, radiation protection, complications, and outcome. Subsequent chapters describe and illustrate the entire gamut of neurovascular anatomy, anatomic variants, and pathology to help readers interpret neuroangiographic studies. This edition's expanded section on interventional neuroradiology covers the most common elective and emergent interventional procedures. The updated artwork includes over 1,000 photographs and diagrams, some in full-color or two-color. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 5.0 based on 3 reviews)
| Great illustrations, diagrams and labeled arteriograms This is a great book for anyone interested in neuroangiography. The beginning chapter goes through the nuances of selective catheterisation and meticulous anti-embolic technique with each step nicely illustrated. It is difficult to get this information elsewhere. The anatomic chapters emphasize the issues that routinely arise when trying to define cerebral aneurysms. These chapters also clarify a lot of vascular nomenclature that can be otherwise confusing. I refer to this book whenever I come across an atypical vessel. If neuroangiography is part of your practice, you will find this book extremely helpful and will want a copy of it in your neuroangiography area. February 11, 2001 | | No better title for this book This is an excellent starting point for the senior radiology resident or beginning diagnostic neuroradiology fellow who wants to learn the basics of "practical neuroangiography." It is wordier than Ann Osborn's new "Diagnostic Cerebral Angiography" and it contains a bit more statistical information and factoids than I could deal with at times but seldom do books entitled "practical" live up to there names as this one does. There are numerous excellent angiographic examples and line drawings which illustrate common normal variants. I think the greatest asset of this book is the beginning chapters on technical procedures which gives many useful (ie practical) points on performing cerebral angiography which is were it really excels over Osborn. This is a must have in the library of any newcomer to the field. September 08, 2000 | |
