EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description
Established as the leading textbook on imaging diagnosis of brain and spine disorders, Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain and Spine is now in its Fourth Edition. This thoroughly updated two-volume reference delivers cutting-edge information on nearly every aspect of clinical neuroradiology. Expert neuroradiologists, innovative renowned MRI physicists, and experienced leading clinical neurospecialists from all over the world show how to generate state-of-the-art images and define diagnoses from crucial clinical/pathologic MR imaging correlations for neurologic, neurosurgical, and psychiatric diseases spanning fetal CNS anomalies to disorders of the aging brain. Highlights of this edition include over 6,800 images of remarkable quality, more color images, and new information using advanced techniques, including perfusion and diffusion MRI and functional MRI. A companion Website will offer the fully searchable text and an image bank. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 5 reviews)
| Great neuroradiology book This is an essential texbook. While today most texbooks tend to become atlases of images that contain very little written information, this one manages to be very well written and contain a lot of information in addition to having very nice images. While it was sometimes difficult to find a difference between the second and first editions, this work has now had quite an overhaul. It might not be ultra-new but it is very nice. It has been expanded to two volumes. It also conbtains a very nice and extensive section on the spine which was one of the main weaknesses of the book by Anne Osborne. this is clearly superior even if it lacks the wonderful tables of that other book. SAome of the more basic chapters may be somewhat complex but they can be easily skipped in favour of the great clinical content. May 21, 2007 | | Not worth the money. Both poorly written and edited. Pictures are poor quality. Too much basic science and not enough clinical application. Overall, good for Ph.Ds, not physicians. Far superior books available for radiologists and radiologists in training at cheaper price. June 04, 2004 | | readable and concise Complete well organized text. Very readable with the exception of the sections on MRI physics (a little too much "high-level", mathematical physics for the everyday neuroradiologist). Good quality images and pathological correlation. Overall, very good reference text that is not too overly and unnecessarily encyclopedic and exhausting to read. July 28, 2003 | | State of the Art Scott Atlas' book is THE reference text of choice for neuroradiologists and other neuroimagers. There simply is no other neuroradiology text that approaches the depth, quality, and timeliness of imaging and pathological information provided in this text. The MR physics discussions are unparalleled, as well. Other less exhaustive neuroradiology texts might be more appropriate for radiology residents, but this is the text that Neuroradiology fellows and attendings should be referring to. Bravo. October 29, 2002 | | Info -"No other book of this scope exists." - Annals of Neurology-"recommended in the highest possible terms for all involved in the clinical neurosciences" - Amer J of NeuroRad This CD-ROM consists of the highly acclaimed reference work of the same name edited by Scott Atlas. The text and images are featured in their entirety as chapters and are grouped in the following sections: 1) Physics and Principles 2) Brain 3) Skull-Base and Orbit 4) Spine 5) Advanced MRI June 04, 2001 | |
