CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 3 reviews)
| Excellent, Informative Book My son is completely in love with anything space related, and this book is his favorite. "Universe" is a well-written, extremely informative book about everything you'd ever want to know about the universe, from early astronomy to the solar system to the life of stars, and much more. My favorite thing about the book is the detailed illustrations. For example, there are large, detailed images of four of Jupiter's moons, which is more than you'll find in many space books. I highly recommend "Universe". April 06, 2008 | | Response to the small minded review posted as a review You bought a book entitled UNIVERSE and didn't expect a SCIENTIFIC (thus ATHEISTIC) view of the universe? Give me a break.
And just because a book says that a new-born baby has "no before, only after" doesn't mean it is "pro-abortion." Did it tell you to go out and abort a fetus (or child if you must)? Besides, I don't think a children's book from a profit-driven publisher is pro-abortion. Think about it.
You entire review is idiotic. "I no longer trust DK to provide unbiased material for my children?" So who DO you trust? I'd love to know where to find this mythical book publisher that I can unflinchingly and whole-heartedly trust to be unbiased.
I only hope you do not dissuade others from purchasing this book. February 14, 2008 | | Glaringly biased I returned this book, because instead of just getting great info on the universe, which DK is fully capable of delivering well, I had to wade through atheistic, pro-abortion garbage such as: There was nothing before the Big Bang. Just like a new-born baby: there is no before, only after. (This is almost a direct quote.) I no longer trust DK to provide unbiased material for my children. December 06, 2007 | |
