BEST Cookbook!
I love this cookbook! It has a WEALTH of cooking information, such as cuts of meats, what temperatures to cook them and how to cook them. Even has food equivalents, kitchen basics like weight and measure equivalents, measuring techniques, kitchen cutlery, ingredient substitutions, chopping techniques, cookware, bakeware, food safety, table setting, lightening recipes, menu-planning, storage guidelines, herbs and spices, alphabetical index, and it has a glossary with terms. It also has four different ways of preparing the same type recipe! Very helpful aid in teaching your children to cook! VERY PLEASED!

Monette L.Cortez
I have not made any food yet, but I have from their magazines. I did send in the coupon inside for the free issues. The book is attractive and easy to understand. The best feature for me is the way the receipe has a section for cooking for two persons. This will be in my family for many many years.

Great as usual
I was surprised to see the negative review here. I have always been a huge fan of Taste of Home recipes. I get the magazine, buy the booklets in the grocery store line, and have made countless recipes from their website. This cookbook is no exception. There are tons of tips, each category has an alphabetized index, and color photos of each recipe, just like we would expect. I think the only thing I was disappointed with was that to save page space, many of the recipes are split up, the first part on one page, the rest on the next. Otherwise, I've already made a couple of the recipes from this book and each one has been great. I think out of the hundreds of TOH recipes I have tried, I have only tossed two.

I've seen better cookbooks....
This was a huge disappointment. I was so used to the phenomenal recipes from America's Test Kitchen cookbook that this one had no chance. I've actually given up on using it as every recipe I've made from it has been a flop. There are much better cookbooks out there so if you're going to buy this one, make sure and buy a used one.

Best cookbook ever!
I have been cooking for several years and have an extensive cookbook collection (including two large Betty Crocker books), but when I bought this on a whim, I had no idea how good it would be. It has recipes that I don't have anywhere else, cheese balls, fudge, buttermilk fried chicken...the list just goes on and on. Every recipe I have made so far is delicious! It literally tastes like food from a restaurant, and it is so easy. Here are the sections:
Kitchen Basics
Appetizers & Beverages
Soups & Sandwiches
Beef & Veal
Pork
Lamb
Poultry
Seafood
Grilling
Eggs & Cheese
Beans & Grains
Pasta & Pasta Sauce
Vegetables
Fruit
Salads & Salad Dressings
Sauces & Condiments
Quick Breads
Yeast Breads
Pies & Tarts
Cakes
Desserts
Cookies & Bars
Candies
Light & Tasty
By far the best cookbook I have ever seen. I was so impressed by this, I recommend it to all my friends. This book is good for both the beginner and experienced chef!
