Product Description
Mastery of Hand Strength is the book on grip strength - the one that every grip guy in the last 10 years has read, probably at least twice. John Brookfield was the second man in the world to officially close the fearsome No. 3 Captains of Crush Gripper and the first to officially bend the IronMind Red Nail, and he has inspired and educated countless people who have gone on to excel in these areas. If strong hands and mighty wrists appeal to you, it's your starting point for a world-class grip. 120 pp.

Mastery of Hand Strength
This is a very good book for anyone wanting to improve his grip for whatever reason but has no idea how to do it besides the usual grippers and wrist curls. I shows you lots of different ways to improve your different types of grip for an overall better performance. I opens your eyes in terms of equipment you can make by yourself. What it lacks though, is in terms of application, it doesn't say much about how to use the exercies, how much rest, how to combine, etc. Anyway is a good buy if you have no idea how to begin.

a unique book
This book is a good tool.

The author presents info that I have never been shown before and besides the lack of an anatomy lesson on grip strength, this book packs a bunch of info into a very small book. If there was more info on the physiology of hand strength, this book would get a "5", but I would still recommend this book to anyone interested in strength.

It is very readable and I have revisited the book more then once.

Mastery of Hand Strength
This book contains a lot of useful information and practical exercises for those of us who want to increase hand and grip strength. As someone who regularly trains with weights I found this book to be a revelation on how important it is to develop grip strength since weight training doesn't help much with grip strength.

save your $$
I thought this book is drivel. Itis nothing more than a series of badly written, rambling articles written in the breathlessly enthusiastic style that is typical of body building mags. It does contain some suggestions for interesting excercises and tips on how to make equipment, but you can find all that for free by doing a Google on "grip strenth training"

There is not one diagram or word of explanation for the muscles in the hand and forearm and what movements they control. Not one! Other than suggesting ideas for the exercises themselves, there is no real discussion about an actual exercise program. Should one do 5 reps or 50 reps? Is it best to exercise every day? Twice a week? The book is no help.

If you cant get enough of the magazine article and you want to read a bunch of badly written accounts of who squoze what and when then this book is for you - otherwise save your $$
