Product Description
Meet Cledus B. Washington, Jr. an attractive, hardworking, fifty year-old man with a great sense of humor whose world is turned upside down when he becomes a statistic amongst the 20.6 million American who are diagnosed with chronic kidney disease each year. As he finally comes to grips with his illness, his girlfriend leaves him, his mother tries to take over his life, and his financial security is severely compromised as his world shrinks down to monitoring the buzzing sound of his lifeline that confirms he is still alive. I enjoyed reading That Damn Dialysis immensely! Cledus Washington is a real down-to-earth person suffering with chronic kidney disease and learns how to live with it. I have been in the field of Nephrology for over thirty-five years, and have noticed that unfortunately there are occasions when healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, etc.,) treat patients with chronic kidney disease as if they are in a vacuum. The star character, Cledus Washington, shows he is a real person, with a real life. He demonstrates how he learns to live with the disease and yet still enjoy life. Being on dialysis doesnt take over his life! I look forward to finding out how Cledus deals with his kidney transplant. Excellent reading material; a great story, combined with easy to read medical knowledge. --Charles K. Crumb M.D. 'That Damn Dialysis is unique! Most medical books are too technical and written for medical professionals. This medical novel' is written so that the average person can fully understand the medical terms, enjoy a good story, and fully understand their disease and their options. Cledus B. Washington, the star of the book, tells his hilarious and compassionate story, in good old layman's terms.

A story many sufferers of the disease will relate to
No matter how successful one's life is, there is always the threat of disease. "That Damn Dialysis" follows Cledus B. Washington as his life goes from having everything he wanted to rock bottom after he discovers he is suffering from chronic kidney disease. Told with a light heart, "That Damn Dialysis" is a story many sufferers of the disease will relate to. Informing as it entertains, "That Damn Dialysis" is a top pick especially recommended for anyone with kidney disease, their loved ones, and for community library fiction collections.

Information, Educational and Funny!
Great book... I was so interested in what was going to happen next that I read it in 2 days! A relative was diagnosed with chhronic kidney disease and will inevitably end up on dialysis. This was the perfect book to gain insight on what could be expected, what information should be received from the doctors, what questions should be asked of them and what goes through the mind of someone faced with this lifechanging condition. Before reading this, I couldn't imagine someone writing such a journey with such humor, but here it is! I hope all is well with Mr. Washington...

That Damn Dialysis is hilariously educational
That Damn Dialysis is definitely on it's way to the best-seller list! It is a 'must-read' book for anyone suffering with any chronic illness (not just kidney failure). I found this 'medical-novel' to be hilariously educational. I couldn't put it down! Cledus B. Washington is the main character of the book -- however, my favorite character is Ms. Irene. She's a hoot! I recommend it HIGHLY!

Dialysis from a Patient's Perspective
Outstanding Read! This is a great fictional novel that I highly recommend for patients on dialysis, those starting dialysis and anyone interested in dialysis. It reminds me so much of the acclaimed novel, CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES. It will be a classic for dialysis patients and I look forward to more great work from the author!
