EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Now in paperback: "A genuinely holistic blueprint for a healthy, happy, and long life" The old saying goes that "living well is the best revenge." In recent years that’s come to signify conspicuous consumption rather than aging with good health, vitality, and a keen mind -- but all the luxury in the world won’t make up for an existence that’s lacking those three things. In The Longevity Bible, expert Dr. Gary Small offers scientifically proven -- yet still fun and exciting -- ways to keep the brain, body, and attitude young and vital well into our sixties, seventies, and beyond. |

| Longevity Bible book purchase from Amazon The book arrived in a timely manner and in good condition.
It's a fascinating book.
Zareh March 01, 2008 | | A Must Read I originally bought "The Longevity Bible" for my girl (?) friend who had recently suffered a broken leg, followed by a mild heart attack. I had it delivered to my house, and decided I had better look it over before giving it to her. I couldn't put it down. It is the most complete book on gaining & maintaining one's mental & physical health I have ever read (and trust me, I've read plenty). January 03, 2007 | | How to shape up and stay strong. Just a hundred years ago the average person didn't live much beyond 40: today modern medicine is promising many the opportunity to live into their nineties - but what about fading health and vitality? THE LONGEVITY BIBLE: 8 ESSENTIAL STRATEGIES FOR KEEPING YOUR MIND SHARP AND YOUR BODY YOUNG tells how to live longer and better, with chapters advocating building stress-free years and lifestyle, and telling how to shape up and stay strong.

California Bookwatch September 24, 2006 | | The importance of an active mind! For everyone who cares about their health, this book is the ultimate guide to self-improvement and longevity! Small is an expert in his field and he offers great advice on how to maximize health as you age.
I thoroughly enjoyed the chapters on memory. Small provides excellent information on memory loss - from facts to prevention - and he even includes exercises that stimulate the brain. Mental fitness is essential to sustaining an active, clear mind. Many people do not realize that working out your brain is just as beneficial as going to the gym. This book really highlights the importance of mental fitness and has led me to look for other ways to stimulate my brain. I joined a service called Agogus.com, which provides fun brain exercises and interesting articles. And, my mental clarity and sharpness continues to get better each day. The key to longevity is mental fitness, and if you ask me - we all need to put our brain on the treadmill!
August 15, 2006 | | Holistic balance and optimism! What a delight. I was expecting yet another book on diet and exercise. Dr. Small, however, gives balance with only one chapter on diet and one on fitness. His other six essentials are mental and lifestyle. As Dr. Small put it, "Fix your brain and the rest will follow." The emphasis on a sharp mind, optimism, healthy relationships, finessing stress, environment, and using medicine well is right on. The advice is solidly based on research and clinical experience. The book is very practical and the writing has a wonderfully positive and upbeat tone. Well done!
