CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 1.5 based on 6 reviews)

Not the best NCLEX study tool.
The cards are thorough(maybe too much info to study for the NCLEX). What I don't like is that they're not on cardstock paper, so they're thin and hard to get hold of to pull out of the box. Also, there are no dividers to make it easy to find your way around in the box.

Save your money
There is an OVERWHELMING amount of information provided by this. If I had purchased this before I entered nursing school and started working with it then, I dont think I would know 1/10th of the information that is provided. Save your money and stick to reviewing the meds you learned about in school.

disappointed
Don't waste your money on these. . . The information is skimpy and useless unless you're good at rote memorization. Yeah, these may have the bare minimum anount of information needed to pass your exam, but they don't review the drug action/mechanism. I need to know that to understand the side effects/nursing considerations. The mosby cards are more detailed, and much more useful.

Extremely unhelpful
Basically, this product is too simple. It only tells you the drug name then some of the side effects, then some REALLY POINTLESS nursing consideration information. I really expected more from Kaplan, seeing as how so many recommend them, but I was very disappointed by this product. Save your money and write your own review cards from your pharmacology textbook. It'll be so much more help than these ever would be.

Would recommend
Helpful because of the organization and repetition. Although I went through these cards once, the drugs were organized by class, which usually meant the signs, symptoms, and nursing considerations were the same. Because of this, it allowed for me to flash and repeat, and thus memorize. I would recommend going through these at least once before the NCLEX, making a note of the ones you have trouble with. Thankfully, I went over the optical medications before the NCLEX, in which I never learned in the first place and I had a couple optical questions on the exam, among several others. But, I would recommend going through medications from what you're comfortable with first and then these cards. Yes, I passed the NCLEX.
