| I'm ordering copies for several friends and family!  This book is very easy to read in spite of the rather complex subject matter. I especially am enjoying the way the authors explain just WHY metabolic syndrome is something to be worried about, and how different foods are digested differently. Some of it is shocking, which is really helping motivate me to make dietary changes.
Many concrete behavioral suggestions as well, such as "instead of eating whole wheat bread, eat whole *grain* bread," things I hadn't previously even been aware of.
After awhile I might want to get a bigger, more detailed book, but this book is a great place to start.
I ordered it along with a low-GI cookbook. I look forward to making some of those recipes this weekend. October 19, 2006 | |
