EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Take a floatable, huggable, colorful book, add pop-out puzzle pieces in fun textured foam, and what do you get? Textured Soft Shapes, that's what! Kids will love to touch unique, fun books. Perfect for the bath, beach, or pool, Textured Soft Shapes are more than just baby's first book--they'll soon be baby's favorite book! Children love to play with our Soft Shapes at the beach, so a book about well known water creatures is a natural! As children make their way among the ripples of the waves on each page, they'll discover a prickly crab, a slippery fish, a puckery sea horse, and a ticklish starfish. | Amazon.com Review You never have to worry about losing this book at the beach... it floats! Kids can pop out the soft, nontoxic foam sea creatures to answer the rhymes about who they are and feel their bumpy textures. "Who crawls on the sea floor / And skitters up to shore?" Is it a slippery fish, a prickly crab, a puckery sea horse, or a ticklish starfish? Kids remove the brightly colored shapes, and then easily press them back in. It's a perfect match for the beach, bath, playground--anywhere at all. Check out Dinos!, Rough Road, Whose Back Is Bumpy?, or any of the other textured titles in this terrific follow-up series to Soft Shapes. (Ages 1 to 4) --Emilie Coulter |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 5.0 based on 6 reviews)
| Fantastic Book I bought this when my son was five months old. He still loves it at 15 months! It's durable, colorful and easy for small hands to grasp. We use it at bathtime, in the car, at the beach. He loves to take the sea creatures out and put them back in. It's loads of fun and he never tires of it. November 08, 2007 | | Textured Soft Shapes: High Tide A book, puzzle and teether all in one. My daughter loves this toy. She will actually lunge from her sitting postion to get it. All the textures are neat the colors are bright, and a cute riddle to read as well. August 31, 2007 | | Fantastic Book My 17 month old son loves this book, I bought the whole textured series for him. He's had the books for several months and had not gotten bored of them. Every adult who comes to the house loves the books and goes to buy them for their own children. June 21, 2003 | | Fun and Versatile! I was given this book as a gift and was immediately taken in by the foam textures and colors. Upon opening the book and discovering text hidden behind the pop out sea creatures, I was thrilled. It is a great first book since the child can feel all the different sea creatures. My 4 month old loved teething on the sea horse! She learned very quickly that she could pop out the creatures and that each felt differently. Furthermore, I could wash them when she finished chewing on them or let her play with them in the bath.In addition to being a high quality activity book, the actual text is written in riddles using a high level of vocabulary that will challenge a child for many years with words such as 'puckery' and 'skitters'. This is a book that can easily be baby's first, but it will also challenge her for years to come. July 30, 2002 | | Good book for babies 0 to 2 years old My 11-month old baby loves this book. Finally a book that she can play with, and read without destroying it. It has: a fish, a crab, a sea horse, and a starfish. It serves as a bath toy, and is a colorful puzzle. She picks up the pieces and tries to put them back on. It is surviving her teething quite well so far... I'm buying more of that series for her and for gifts! June 07, 2001 | |
