From the supplier: A reexamination of the role of organized labor in the US economy is sought in the light of the decline of unionism and increased labor protection legislation. The call is made as the theory that in a monopsonized labor market, a labor monopoly power will spur employment as well as higher wage rates has not taken place in the US. On the contrary, unions have not only failed to acquire wage increments for their membership, but have also made the economic system inequitable by creating barriers to entry for other workers in relatively high-paying unionized jobs.
