From the supplier: The level of mercury emissions in the US may be higher than previously believed, says environmental economist Robert Ayres and James Cummings-Saxton. In their book, 'Accounting for Human Use,' the two match input and output data from the US Bureau of Mines and the EPA's Toxic Release Inventory on mercury use. Their findings show that of the 621 tons of mercury consumed in 1992, only 134 tons are accounted for in the TRI.
