From the supplier: Patients who have had the hypothalamus or pituitary gland damaged due to surgery or radiation therapy need hormone replacement therapy. Arginine vasopressin balances the body's water content and is replaced by the synthetic 1-desamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin. Growth hormone is given to children. Cortisol, replaced with prednisolone, aids in glucose metabolism Thyroxine stimulates the thyroid for growth and development. Testosterone and estrogen produce sexual development in males and females respectively and are given to adolescent patients.
