From the supplier: The ice storms that affected New England, upper New York and Canada in Jan 1998, generated an increasing number of disaster insurance claims from affected businesses and homeowners. In Canada, the storm generated more than 250,000 claims for property damages evaluated at $252.5 mil according to the Insurance Bureau of Canada. In US, companies such as State Farm Insurance Co, CNA Insurance Group and Commercial Union York Insurance Co expect to receive considerable catastrophe storm damage claims from homeowners and businesses.
