CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 3.5 based on 236 reviews)

Propaganda
I don't know anything about Stossel. The book looked intriguing.

But I got so angry reading this book, I threw it out 1/4 of the way through it--recycled it--rather than inflict it on any one else.

I've read hundreds of informational fact/trivia books like this, so when I say this was full of misinformation, I know whereof I speak.

But worse, it was infused throughout, covertly, with right wing propaganda. Is Stossel a right wing bonkjob? That's my take away from this book.

Unless you like to be fed lies, pap and ideology, stay away from this one.

This book has its charms, and its flaws.
When I heard that John Stossel had come out with a book I figured that it would inevitably be a good one. Boy was I really wrong. The idea that he goes around breaking down myths is awesome. His problem is that he decides to waddle his way in to politics. That's where the bleeding begins. It finally releases when he tries to convert the reader in to a libertarian. Which is a shame becuase it was well on its way to 4-5 stars.

Should Be Required Reading
This book should be required reading. Thank you, Johnl, for having the guts to tell it like it is, and point out all of the unbelievable idiocy out there. The world would be a much better place if there were more people like you out there.

He really makes you think!
I couldn't put this book down. It is very interesting, he makes a lot of sense. I have re-read it many times and every time I see something I didn't see before. Great book!

A good light read
There wasn't much new in this book, however Stossel gets you thinking about the world around you.

This is a good light read. Most of the myths are covered in less than 2 pages, so it's easy to read for few minutes & put it down til another time.

If you are looking for something w/ strong substance, this probably is not the book for you since he oversimplifies things.
