A Transcript of Channelings of Saint Germain and Others I find that the "I am" tradition has a certain amount of vitality and potency. It commands a following to this day, especially around Mount Shasta. The practice of visualizing the violet flame comes from this tradition. The use of "I am" decreeds also comes from this tradition. The channellings of information start around 1938 and continue for over 15 years. If you practice what is taught, you will definitely feel some changes in your consciousness for the better. The information seems dated in some ways. There is an anti-communist attitude in some of the discourses that is taken very seriously and factors into some of the stories. America is spoken of in glorious terms (and some mention is made of the word "America" being "I am race" when the letters are rearranged - though not in this particular series of channellings). I do find that if you read a few of the books that you "get it" about the whole teaching and how it works. The information starts to appear a little redundant, though there are a few surprises, like the threefold flame and some of the decrees move beyond merely affecting our individual life but touch those around us. While the information maintains a certain level of quality across all the books, my favorites are the earlier ones like THE MAGIC PRESENCE. The later books seem to be a commentary on these earliest books and add only small amounts of new information. What is interesting is that Jesus is an Ascended Master and that he uses "I AM" decrees to liberate himself. This adds a new meaning to some of the sayings of Jesus in the New Testament, like "I AM the way, the truth, and the life" and "I AM the resurrection and the life" (which supposedly was given by one of the teachers of Jesus to Jesus). I like this view in that Jesus can be seen as a very advanced being rather than an "only begotten son" who is used to invalidate the core truth of every religion but Christianity. In this interpretation, no one comes to the Father except through the "I AM" inside of us, rather than Jesus as a personal deity. Those who are curious about this tradition, though, may wish to start with another book that the Discourses, the earlier ones are more narrative and explain the ideas for the first time in a comprehensible way. The later ones sometimes seem to make an assumption that the audience already understands some of this background material. March 25, 2008
