I purchased this lapdesk for my 17" laptop, hoping that wouldn't place as high as my previous lapdesk. Most of these have cushioning that elevates them, which forces my arms into an uncomfortable position. The LapLogic LapDesk rests comfortably on my legs, and allows me to type without pain. It really does seem to keep the computer cooler, but I have to make sure that I'm not blocking the channels in front or back (which tends to happen if I have a blanket over my legs). The width is terrific - I can actually place my trackball on the lapdesk. It does not slide, so I can place it where I want, even if my legs aren't level with the floor.

Not a desk; this is just an overpriced headpad/but good quality by Shuree D. Munden-Wagstaff (Southern California)

I was looking for a lapdesk to work on my computer in bed. As soon as this thing arrived, I slipped it out of the mailer, and never even took it out of its plastic bag before I put it right back in the mailer. It is most certainly a long anti-heat pad not a desk in any form. In the end I went with an oversized childs craft table. Works fantastic, however, dont bother going to organize.com to find it if you arent prepared for some wild girly prints.

Nice but not sure I would use this unless in bed or a recliner by Chumplestilskin (Las Vegas)

I just purchased this product. It keeps the laptop snug in place and the heat away very nicely. However, it's just a "board" for lack of a better description with no incline to level the laptop. As your legs are pitched downward naturally towards the knees, if you're sitting in a normal chair, you have to use your tiptoes to keep the laptop level or you feel like it's going to slide as a whole down on to your toes. I have a larger 17" laptop, there's approx 3" wide space left over to use a regular mouse (which I do via wireless). That's not much room but it works. Overall there is no way I would use this product if sitting in a regular chair unless I absolutely had to due to no pad underneath to help level it. It appears it is awesome for kicking back in your bed or recliner and computing. If you want a board to keep the heat off your legs, this works. It all depends on the seating position you are using your laptop in (at least in my opinion). I like the product and got it to recline and compute...just think about "where" you will be using it previously or you may be disappointed.

When I first saw the w800 I thought it was silly. I used thermaltake pad filled with crystals to keep my laptop cool and supposedly my legs as well. I have to say this lapdesk CRUSHES the thermaltake pad, and everything else I've tried. I sit with my computer on my lap a lot and don't feel ANY heat coming through. Nothing. Its also big enough that my 17 inch Gateway p6860fx fits on it comfortably and I still have room for the mouse. Keep in mind I use a bulky sidewinder corded mouse and I have big gorilla hands. The thing that surprised me most though, was how cool the laptop stayed. I was worried about heat buildup, but I can report that after a 2 hour session of Company of Heroes my lap was cool, and because the laptop is lifted slightly off the pad by its design my computer was cool too. Its so good I bought two more. One for travel, and one for mt wife. Anyone wanna buy a thermaltake pad?

I did a considerable amount of research before buying this item because there is a definite price difference between other lap desks. I have a 17" Dell laptop, which is very wide and heavy. The Aerogel wide is plenty big enough and easy to balance on my lap. It is also easy to carry around because it is not heavy itself and it definitely keeps the heat away from my legs. Laplogic's customer service was easy to deal with, except they were having a phone problem at time. I would recommend this to anyone.
