I wish I would have read the other reviews first as they are spot on about the sizing. I purchased the small infant hat(5-8lbs)thinking it would be perfect for baby's ride home from the hospital. It's huge and there is no way this will fit a typical newborn. The quality is nice, soft fabric, etc.

As with several other items I purchased from JPP for a newborn baby, the hats I received are all way too big! (The matching newborn blankets, on the other hand, are way small!) I assumed that newborn size hats were intended to fit an average size newborn baby's head. However, this is simply not the case. The material of the hats is fabulous as is the style of the hats. But it will be at least a couple more months, I think, before my baby can wear these hats. We are very disappointed.

These were actually too big for my son when they first arrived but left some room to grow into. They're fairly thick so they're pretty good for colder weather (double layered).
