EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Bothered by water spots on your windshield, dangerous road film, or silicone buildup on your auto glass? Are your household windows stained and spotted from sprinklers? Spot-X Hard Water Stain & Spot Remover cleans stubborn stains from your vehicle or home glass.
Whether the water stains are caused by acid rain, salt water, road grime, sprinklers or well water, Spot X Glass cleaner will work, we guarantee it. While SpotX cannot be used on auto paint, it will not harm the paint if it gets on it. Simply rinse off with water.
Household windows are just as easy. Can be used on porcelain. Remove hard water stain rings in toilets, light rust on porcelain sinks and tubs. Removes built up soap scum. Spot-X has protective qualities and once used the water will sheet off instead of beading off which causes water spots. Use again once sheeting stops or water spots begin to appear again. Please note it is very important to use the non-scratch pad that comes with the Spot-X. All OTHER pads have a grit in the glue that binds the fibers and will scratch glass. Our pads were specifically made for this product. Spot-X CANNOT scratch glass. It is just below glass on the Moh's Hardness Scale. |

| love it too!!! by naninou (usa) 5 Stars October 04, 2009 hi,
i bought this product 3 years ago for my husband's car glasses. At the time it worked well. It didn't really clean 100% the water deposit but it made a huge difference of clearity.
We bought this really new house one year ago and i was really annoyed by the deposit of water on my shower glasses. The water in my area is extremely calcareous. Well i just remember today that i had some left over of this product in my garage somewhere. I was really hoping that it will work and it did. I had little left in the bottle -keeps forever because it is a powder- and i wanted to try it before ordering more. I couldn't finish the whole shower because i didn't have enought but i am so exited to order more because honestly it did a 100% job! I cannot believe it! May be it works for young stains that is maybe why it doesn't work for everybody.
I also had this yellow ring stain in my half bathroom's sick downstair and it did remove it in seconds. I tried everything to remove it. And you know the best part? This product doesn't burn the eyes or throat. Unlike the product that somebody mentioned early -the bar keepers friend- it doesn't have harmfull chemical and acid! that is a huge plus for me because I am so tired of these stinky products that don't do a good job.
Cannot wait to receive my order to finish my shower glasses and start my marble! I really recommend it and i don't have any interest to say so!
| | Pleasently Suprised by Alex (Portland OR) 5 Stars September 18, 2009 I purchased an 02 Saab 9-3 from Nevada with major water damage on all of the windows (except for the new windshield). I had tried several different products previously and a couple of home remedies. Overall my success was quite poor. In a last ditch effort I went ahead and let the internet do the searching for me and found this product. Well naturally I am skeptical of anything in a bright yellow container (as all adults should be), I am even more skeptical of products that advertise "all-natural" and "doesn't contain chemical" (I like chemicals personally :)
Even with this skepticism, I manned up and paid the $$ (which is not to bad really). Lo and behold 1 week later i get my shiny yellow bottle and set out to put it to the test. A few things about using this product before i describe the results:
It takes elbow grease
The pad was safe on my car windows
took 2 hours
Now the instructions
First, when mixing the product, you want a slightly dry paste (pliable to the fingers, but not wet). I made the paste directly on the included pad. I found that making it drier is better, once you start applying it onto the window you can use a spray bottle (I used windex) to up the moisture if you need to. NOTE this product does very little if you make the mix to wet or dry.
As i applied it I immediately knew it was the right consistency if it felt like wet sanding (this feel quite a bit different then cleaning your windows (more like scrubbing a dirty pan with a green pad)). I found the best success in doing the whole window in one go, and then repeating in smaller areas. The first application should include about 10 minutes of elbow grease (after you test the product to ensure you wont scratch your windows). If the mix starts to get to dry and flake off, use a spray bottle to spritz on some liquid. Repeat the process to clear up anything after the first pass.
and results!
Wow! I had some pretty white funky windows with what I thought was pretty terrible water damage (one of the main reasons the car was being sold so cheap). The windows don't look brand knew, but they do look very clean and clear. I can still see a bit of water streaks in certain light but nothing that i have yet to notice when i was not explicitly looking for it (and this could just require another round of scrubbing). Overall I am stoked to have fixed this issue for under 45 dollars (all of the other products i tried). I would highly recommend this product to someone searching for a cure to water damaged car windows.

| | It works, but takes some effort by Chris Tann (San Jose, CA USA) 4 Stars July 28, 2009 In researching products to remove water spots from my shower door, I discovered that there is no "miracle cure". I tried several products that made claims such as "disolves water spots instantly", and none of them made the slighest difference to the water spots on my shower door. I think the problem is that some water spots are actually just soap/talc, and are easy to remove. The water spots I had were from hard water, and nothing I tried would make a dent.
After reading the reviews, I decided to try spot-x. Using their enclosed pad, I did a small test, and was not really impressed - it seemes to lessen the spots, but they were stil very noticeable. Going on a hint from the instructions, I got out my Craftsman "Mouse" hand sander, and tried that. The non-scratch pad fit the sander fine, and after a few minutes work, I had made a spot that was crystal clear!
I discovered the best way was to do about 1/4 of the door at a time, and go over it with the sander and spot-x for about 2 mninutes. I then moved onto the next section, leaving the first one to sit for a while. I then came back and re-worked the first spot, and then cleared off the spot-x with a paper towel. It was quite a lot of work, and the sander did tend to throw the spot-x around a little. However the perseverence paid off. The door is (finally) sparkly clean.
| | Works OK, but a simpler and much cheaper solution exists by 92Dawg (Nashville, TN) 3 Stars November 26, 2008 I bought this and followed directions with pretty good results on one side of car with HEAVY glass stains. It was difficult for me to get the hang of getting the powder/water mixture just right...after a time I caught on but was still leery of using an abrasive pad on my windows. As I was using it I remarked at how similar the product was to BarKeepers Friend, which we use to clean our glass cooktop. After consulting the BarKeeps Friend website, I discovered that Bar Keepers Friend could be used on glass with no scrub pad needed. So, I got out our can, got a cloth nice and damp, sprinkled a little Bar Keepers on it, and proceeded to clean the windows on other side of the vehicle using alot less product resulting in less mess and effort. Again, Spot X worked OK but BarKeepers Friend was easier to use and is less than $5 (at grocery stores) for a 12 ounce can.
