| Size great for twins but sags towrds the middle by K. Richardson (Bellevue, WA USA) 3 Stars August 02, 2009 I got this Pack n Play as a replacement for a cradle for my 10 week old twins. They were sharing a cradle during their first 2 1/2 months. I loved my cradle for moving it to and from the bedroom to the living room but it was time to move on. Now, I have the Graco pack n play in the living room and they use a crib for night.
Pros:
The pack n play is wonderful because they each have their own section and are no longer kicking each other. Its big enough for them both to be sleeping in it. It was not *that* hard to put together.
Cons:
Biggest con is that is sags towards the middle so both girls tend to roll to the center like a bad, soft mattress. Do they mind it? Not really although you want to be careful that they don't get stuck with their bodies pushed up against the center wall.
Also, don't expect to move this. It is large enough that it doesn't fit through standard door ways. Once we put it up in the living room, it stays in the living room. I think we could probably break it down to take on vacation and put it up once in a hotel room or grandparents house but I would not want to break it down and put it up new everyday. It's not that portable. Also, it a struggle to put a sheet on. Nice thing is it fits a crib sheet pretty well.
Unknown --
I haven't tried to use this as a playpen yet so perhaps it won't sag when I do that.
Would I buy it again? Probably because they just isn't anything better on the market for twins.
| | Not portable by C. Franck (Wausau, WI) 3 Stars March 08, 2009 I got this because I am due to have twins in April and thought it would be great for when I was visiting family and such. Now that I have the thing together I will probably never take it apart for travel. It was a pain to assemble the bassinets and while I can see that it collapses and travels well it is just too much work to put it back together. So, for myself, this wont travel until I'm to point of using only the play pen.
| | Don't Bother with the Twin Pack 'N Play - Get Two Single Ones by Laura Guenthner (Bentonville, AR) 4 Stars February 18, 2009 The design of this Pack 'N Play is nice, although if I had it to do over again, I would probably just purchase two single Pack 'N Plays for my twins. The separated sleeping bassinet looks cute, and works fine, but in reality, your twins don't need a divider - by the time they are strong enough to roll around the bassinet, they will likely be too heavy to be sleeping in it. I've also heard/seen from friends with twins that the babies sleep just fine right next to each other - just like they put them in the hospital. Plus, having two Pack 'N Plays can be a big plus later on - you may want to have your babies sleeping in separate rooms, or locate them at different places during the day (like one in a bedroom while napping and the other in the living room with you while they are awake). And, when you travel with them, you will need two sleeping areas once they get too big to share one, which isn't long. I also had a devil of a time trying to find the sheet that goes with this - and I only had one option.
Functionally, this is a well-built portable crib, that is easy to set up and take down, and is just as compact as a single P'nP (excluding the bassinet).
We still use the twin Pack 'N Play as a traveling crib for one of our babies, but I would probably have been better off buying two smaller ones.
| | Skip it by Elara (Melbourne, FL United States) 3 Stars January 29, 2009 Unless you plan to travel with them when they are tiny or need a daily nap spot other than their cribs this isn't necessary or worth it. You can't just use the top part without the bassinets as one big space - it might have been useful a little longer if it could have. It doesn't work very well for changing diapers because of the bassinets.
Also regular pnp sheets don't fit this and I've yet to see sheets for this in a store (so get them on here when you do buy it).
I think you would be better just going ahead and getting two basic pnp for traveling. They are going to outgrow the weight limit of the bassinets quickly and they are going to want their own space. When we took our first trip with them at 6 months we had to borrow two pnpbecause they couldn't sleep together without waking each other up.
Mine is by my door as a holding spot to get them in and out of the car/house when I'm alone. For that it's been useful, but no more so than a regular PNP.
| | Handy and attractive by S. Loefke (Boston, NY) 5 Stars October 03, 2008 I bought this for my daughter who is expecting twins. So although she has not yet had the chance to use it, it will be a very handy way to accomodate her two baby boys in a very small house. It looks quite sturdy enough to do the job.
