I was very happy to find these stainless steel bottles in the midst of the SIGG BPA scandal. The bottle is a nice size, and the designs are very nice. My daughter loves the butterflies.
However...the flaws. Even when the sipper spout is closed, it leaks if it lies on its side, and let's face it...a kid's bottle won't be upright all the time. For instance, if I pull it out from the bottom of my purse, the pink cap is full of water. And when you open it, water goes everywhere...very annoying. The other very annoying part is that you cannot hook your finger through the cap loop to carry it, or to attach a caribiner as the lid pops off. My daughter sees me carry my Nalgene water bottle by the loop, and gets so frustrated that she can't carry her water bottle by the loop.
Obviously, because it is metal it's going to dent, which it does quite easily. And I have never put this in the dishwasher (as they suggest you don't) and the paint is chipping off.
So, back to plastic bottles I go.

I was very disappointed to learn after I had purchased these that they are only "lead-safe" and NOT "lead-free" - because of the paint on the outside. My children love them, but I hesitate to let them use it. It's too bad that Crocodile Creek couldn't source safer paint.

Defective sipper spout? by water bottle mom  2 Stars

I bought three of these (two butterfly ones and one fire truck one). None of the sipper spouts work. Liquid will just not come through them. I am hoping there is some kind of a trick to make them work, but I like to think of myself as an intelligent person and I sure can't figure it out.
Also, the directions say they are not recommended for automatic dishwashers, and to hand wash in warm water. Really annoying.
Cute design and the size was what I expected though-- if someone will just tell me how to make the sipper spouts work I'd be satisfied with the purchase (and will put them in the dishwasher anyway!!)

I really like this water bottle. It's the best I've been able to find so far. Cute designs, made of safe stainless steel. doesn't leak, easy sip spout and a cover to keep the spout clean. I wish they made it in larger sizes for me. My 2 yr old daughter has been using hers for over a month now, & so far so good. I just ordered one for my 4 yr old also.

My 5 year old is a bit old for the straw-sippy cups by Thermos so we've been searching for a stainless steel alternative for her. We've found it in the new Crocodile Creek water bottles! Of course BPA is a scare for all parents and you don't have to worry about that with stainless steel. These bottles are small enough to fit in a school lunchbox and have a sport-style top so they work well for older kids. They're available in a WIDE array of colors to fit any child's preference.
We have two for our 5 year old and will buy more soon for the 3 year old.
