Enjoyable Reading by Mark Joerger (Salem, OR USA) 4 Stars
December 08, 2006
Chris Hannold has a long and varied background in combat robotics. He has buit robots to compete in the biggest combat events in the USA and Europe, and he has organized his own combat events. He is certainly well qualified to author this book. The book itself is a rarity in the technical field of robotics -- it's actually an enjoyable read. Chris inserts stories from his own experience into the book that relate his topic to his real-world experiences. He presents a lot of 'food for thought' concerning the design and construction of a combat robot. This may not be the most technical of the books on the subject, but I find it to be the most enjoyable to read.
