| Piece of crap book----she isn't even a doctor by J. Kimball (Utah) 1 Stars July 25, 2009 DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!! If I could have given 0 or negative stars I would have. I regret buying this book. The author isn't even a medical doctor, do not be fooled by the PhD title. She basically tells you to go to the doctor, go on medication if you need, eat right and exercise; that's all you need to do. You should be fine and your weight should go back to normal. I've had thyroid problems for over 10 years and it's recently gone out of whack again, no amount of exercise I do, no matter how healthy I eat, the weight won't come off. As she puts it..."if you are one of the 'rare' cases where that doesn't work go see a specialist." I didn't buy the flippin' book to help for the one sentence that applies to me. She doesn't take in account for other health problems or medication/vitamin-supplement interactions. I would warn people "do not to buy this book," it's a waste of time, money, and emotion. She gives no hope and even states that holistic ways are a rip off and don't work. She supposedly had thyroid cancer, but has no empathy. Do not buy the book. I regret buying the book, I'd rather throw it away or donate than resell it.

| | The Thyroid Sourcebook (5th Edition) by Lisa F. Condon (Sandy Hook, CT United States) 5 Stars May 29, 2009 I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and did not know which direction to turn in. At the same time I was diagnosed with cancer, I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease. My internal medicine doctor would not take my complaints seriously. My Chiropractor found nodule and sent me to an Endocrinologist who then diagnosed the cancer and found the Hashimoto's Disease. A friend suggeseted this book to me and I quickly bought it. I am glad to have it. I found the information in The Thyroid Sourcebook (5th Edition) up-to-date and right on. I only wish I had known about this book prior to the cancer as it most likely would have helped me get a diagnosis sooner. After all is send and done and I am on the road to recovery, I have re-purchased this book for several family members who are experiencing similar symptoms as myself.

| | excellent by R. Wood (San Jose California) 5 Stars July 19, 2008 This is the most complete and useful book on thyroid disorders. This is the second newer edition of this book I have purchased. I originally purchased it 10 years ago when I had thyroid surgery. It was then, and remains now, very informative and helpful.
