Product Description
For courses in Introductory Meteorology and Meteorology, for Non-Science majors. This meteorology text focuses on explanation about--rather than description of--the processes that produce Earth's weather and climate. It emphasizes a non-mathematical understanding of physical principles as a vehicle for learning about atmospheric processes. Additionally, difficult-to-visualize topics are reinforced with a series of software tutorials presented on a CD-ROM packaged with the book.

Lab Manual - Understanding Weather & Climate (4th Edition) by V. Gilley (Yonkers/Manhattan NY) 5 Stars
August 08, 2009
I bought this manual to go with a text, and it does, right in order. The illustrations are great and add to the knowledge given in the text.

Clear enjoyable intro to Weather (not dumbed down) by K. Friesenhahn (San Antonio, tx United States) 5 Stars
December 30, 2008
I bought the 3rd Edition because it was so inexpensive. Having read the usual popular books on weather, I was interested in a little more science behind the facts. I can not describe the "Eureka" moments that came in every chapter. For 2 -3 bucks plus postage it really delivers. I see 10 times more in the sky than I ever did before. (Surface maps will never be enough again.)

Good text book, bit too pricey by J. Moran (Texas) 4 Stars
May 07, 2007
I liked this book alot when I was in climatology. It isn't longwinded and is explained in plain english. It's Good as a source book, but goes into great detail (even too much) in some sections and not enough in other parts. Overall, it's a bit too expensive if you aren't using this for a course. Buy it used if you can.
