| its everything basic arrythmias is supposed to be! simply the best. 5 Stars August 06, 2009 I went to class in the telemetry floor where I work as a RN could not understand anything but a friend introduced me to this book and I am loving it.
| | Best Learning Tool! by JMP (Little Elm, Texas) 5 Stars April 15, 2009 Basic Arrhythmias by Gail Walraven is a life saver! Not only does it address the subject of arrhythmias but it also conquers the issue of teaching and learning the complex and abstract art of reading cardiac rhythms. Basic Arrhythmias made learning the skill easy.
As a firefighter mid-way through an on-line paramedic course, I highly recommend Basic Arrhythmias to everyone in the field - especially if you are teaching yourself! I wish Gail Walraven would edit (or re-write) "Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured" by Jones and Bartlet Publishers!
| | Essential for emergency health care providers! by N. Manning (LA) 4 Stars February 22, 2009 Keeping it short and sweet...this is a book that's written in a way that makes it easy to understand. Abundance of practice strips throughout the book, set in stages, makes it easy to get used to reading them. I recommend it for anyone that's going to be in the emergency setting. If I had to come up with a negative, the answers in the back on the strips that you read aren't always as accurate in measurement as they should be so don't beat yourself up too bad if you don't come up with exactly the same answers.
| | This book is useless. by James Ridenour (Tennessee, USA) 1 Stars December 18, 2008 This is the most confusing and hard to read textbook I have ever used. We used this book during our paramedic class and even the instructors hate it. If it was not the only book the state would allow us to use we would not have use it.
| | Excellent Review Book for Nurses by L. C. Kilby (Columbia, MD) 5 Stars December 14, 2008 This book takes you step by step through the art of reading rhythm strips. In addition to the great tutorials, there are also many practice strips in the book and also on a CD-rom that comes with the book. I highly recommend the book to anyone who needs to read rhythm strips.
