| Perfect for teachers by Solitary Moon 5 Stars July 25, 2009 This is a lovely story abbout a teacher who is given a pack of seeds by her principal in the beginning of the school year. She feeds and waters them, and tends them with tender loving care until the day they blossom and go on their way.
As a teacher, this is my book of choice for the first and last day of school. It's how I introduce school to my young students and how I make them aware of how much they've blossomed in the ten months of school when school is over. They all 'get' it, and sit spellbound as the story unfolds.
It's a gentle story, with lovely, quirky illustrations and a message about learning and growing up and out. I highly recommend it to anyone teaching lower school, or as a gift for your favorite teacher.
| | Perfect teacher gift! by kimberly Dennin 5 Stars July 11, 2009 This is a perfect teacher gift- gently reminding us about the powerful role teachers can play in a child's life.
| | perfect for teachers! by Kathie 5 Stars July 04, 2009 A thoughtful story about a wonderful teacher who takes her young students from "seedlings" to "flowers". It will bring tears to your teacher's eyes! A perfect gift for a special teacher!
| | Perfect Teacher's Gift by Katherine Yansak (Pittsfield, MA USA) 5 Stars June 26, 2009 This is such a sweet little book. It is a perfect gift for any teacher!
| | Great Book, Smaller than I thought by J. Gardner (NY) 3 Stars June 13, 2009 I LOVE this book and think it is PERFECT for any teacher!! I already own one copy myself, and wanted to purchase one for my child's teacher this year. The cover art was a little different, which was fine, but I expected a book that was about 11"x11" and this book was about 4.5"x4.5". Still a great gift worth giving, just smaller than expected, hence the 3 stars!
