CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 9 reviews)
| Right On by Cynthia S. Lindeman (Rochester, NY) 5 Stars January 07, 2008 I have 6 children, The kids saw this in a youth meeting on DVD(with our permission after we viewed it). My boys said, "It was kind of embarrassing but it was a good way to put it". We bought a copy for our other children and have lent it out to many people. I am buying it today for my distant relatives. Contrary to what others may think, this is very effective. I like the older "religious" DVD version (2001) because she is younger and I think the kids seem to relate better to her.
| | Good information, TERRIBLE layout by stnmikita (Indiana) 2 Stars January 03, 2008 I would have LOVED to give this book a better review, but unfortunately it suffers from two things:
1. Numerous typographical errors, which are unacceptable and distracting
2. A disjointed layout that might have been designed to appeal to a short-attention spanned teen through bold page shifts and font changes, but comes off as disruptive and annoying
I heard Pam Stenzel speak on a radio show and was completely enthralled by the information she shared and the way that she spoke. Although my daughter is only four, I ordered this book immediately with the thought that I would read it and share it someday. Although there is some great information in the book, it is so poorly constructed both physically and in layout that I doubt it will survive until my daughter is old enough to understand it. The book needs a serious editorial, layout, and publishing upgrade. In the current state it is a challenge even to the patient reader.
| | Teens & Sex by RoRo2u (Illinois) 4 Stars April 03, 2007 I read the book first before handing it over to my 13-year old son. I found it to be insightful and helpful. It explains the ramifications of what even one casual sexual encounter can cause; pregnancy, STD's, Lifetime financial committments to children created outside of marriage and the financial burden this creates all through your life.
While there were parts that made me cringe, and caused hesitency in handing the book to my son, I thought it best he read it NOW before he enters into the sexually charged society we live in today. This book provides great examples of the ramifications of the decision to have sex outside of marriage, while giving great examples on why not to and many examples of why waiting for marriage is not only the right thing, but the SMART thing - even if is isn't the easy thing to do.
I do believe there should have been an age appropriate mention somwhere on the title page. So before you hand it over to your children, read it first and then decide if it is appropriate for YOUR child.
| | A must for every pre-teen and teen by James Wegert (Lancaster, PA USA) 5 Stars March 05, 2007 Pam Stenzel's book shines the light of God into the darkness of sex outside of marriage. In an easy to read manner she lays out the facts about the physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences of premarital sex. Reading this book will help pre-teens and teens to understand that God has something much better for them than premarital sex - sex in a lifelong loving marriage relationship.
| | Sex Has a Price Tag by Dr. Roger Libby 1 Stars July 30, 2006 Pam Stenzel has to be the most out of touch author on teenage sex there is. She is in a cloud and cannot seem to relate to the reality of sex today. I have heard her speak at a high school, and she was factually inaccurate and totally biased against any sex. She is an anachronism.

"The Truth about Sex by High School Senior Girls" was compiled using quotes, insights, and statistics about sexual experiences from senior girls. It is written with the 14- or 15- year old girl in mind, to take her by the hand and pass on the wisdom gained by these older girls. The book is pro-abstinence, based on the statistic that 74% of the seniors regret sexual experiences they have had, and it takes the view that sex is a beautiful and sacred rite to be shared in a fully committed...
