EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description With the spate of publicity surrounding the possible health risks posed by childhood immunization, parents are no longer simply following doctor's orders and automatically having their children vaccinated. Instead, they are asking questions. The problem is the search for answers only leads parents to conflicting, one-sided information: doctors claim that parents are endangering their child's life if they refuse shots, while radical vaccine opponents claim parents are endangering their child's life if they accept shots. With THE VACCINE BOOK, parents finally have one, fair, impartial, fact-based resource they can turn to for answers. Each chapter is devoted to a disease/vaccine pair and offer a comprehensive discussion of what the disease is, how common or rare it is, how serious or harmless it is, the ingredients of the vaccine, and any possible side effects from the vaccine. Ultimately, parents will have to make their own informed decisions as Dr. Bob Sears is neither pro-vaccine nor anti-vaccine. But THE VACCINE BOOK will provide exactly the information parents want and need as they make their way through the vaccination maze. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 255 reviews)
| Great book by S. Oakley (Oklahoma City, OK) 5 Stars October 24, 2009 My son was coming up for his one yr check up and I wanted to get more information on vaccines. This book was very informative! He starts off by telling you about the disease your vaccinating from, whether or not it's serious, why people do and do not vaccinate for that particular disease, what the vaccine is made up of, are the ingredients controversial, and what his opinion is on the vaccine. He gives you all the info you need to make an educated decision. I talked to my doctor about putting my son on an alternative vaccine schedule. Good buy!
| | Thnak you! Finally something that is NOT "hysterical" by L. Olsen 5 Stars October 08, 2009 I've read many books about vaccines- but they are "all or none", "pro" or "anti". Which has been very frustrating- and frightening. Dr. Sears uses no scare tactics either way. He lays out each vax, pros and cons. Then goes through rational analysis of studies he has researched. He doesn't minimize or exaggerate the risks of vaccinations or of skipping them. And I VERY MUCH appreciate his acceptance that it is up to the parents. Whether you vaccinate or not you should be FULLY INFORMED. THanks, Dr. Sears
| | Extremely informative by Robert McRobert (Florida) 5 Stars October 07, 2009 The book gives a complete review of diseases and vaccines so the reader can make an educated and informed decision of each vaccine for their child. This book is extremely informative, yet written in a way that can be easily understood.
As a complement on this subject, check this books out You will appreciate it on many levels:
Vaccination: Spreading Leprosy and Death
Vaccination: State sponsored Murder
The Poisoned Needle: Suppressed Facts about Vaccination
The Vaccination Myth: Courageous MD exposes the Vaccination Fraud!
Vaccination Horror: An anthology of important works on vaccination pseudoscience
| | Knowledge is priceless by M. Mcclure (Virginia) 5 Stars October 03, 2009 I love this book! It is very unbiased. It simply states the facts and statistics in a nonpersuasvie way. I highly recommend this book for all of those on the fence about vaccincating. It really helped make my decision easier. I am not saying whether nor not I vaccinate, partial vaccinate, or refuse vaccination altogether. I do not want to persuade anyone either way. Just read this book. From the knowledge that you gain from this book, you will be able to make an informative decision that you will be happy with for your child.
| | Finally, A Doctor Who is Brave Enough to Challenge Pharmaceuticals by K. Nash (Washington, D.C.) 5 Stars September 29, 2009 Did I agree with everything in the book? Overall, yes. This book answered all of my questions regarding vaccines and the human by-products, animals parts, and chemicals that go into making them. Do vaccines do a world of good? YES, but why are we as mothers made to feel insignificant if we have questions about what goes into our childrens' bodies?? Highly recommend this book as a counter-balance to conventional thinking on vaccines -- if for no other reason than to know that there are alturnatives to the "FDA" shot recommendations!
