CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 18 reviews)
| Damaged Goods by New Papa 2 Stars October 28, 2009 I bought the book brand new. I received this book with dirty black streaks on the cover and back of the book. The lower right corner of the cover and pages were also creased. This is what "new" looks like? Overall the content of the book was helpful and spoke in easy to understand text. The quality I received it in is another matter.
| | The Weather Will Be Hotter in August by B. Kleinhans (Charleston, SC) 2 Stars October 13, 2009 In all fairness, let me begin by saying this book would be helpful for people who have a premature baby who is in the hospital right NOW (and who has time to run out that first week to get a book? If you are a friend of someone who has had one ... consider purchasing as a gift - that is only way this is useful). As a person who asked the doctors/nurses questions while our son was in NICU/Level II (8wks), I purchased this book towards him comiing home with hopes it would answer questions when home "alone". Afterall, the title claims to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know through year one; this is not even close to being the truth. If all you need to know for the first year is what to expect in the hospital, that you need to look at your child's developement with their corrected age (when they were supposed to be born) and that breast is best at all cost, then I just saved you the money & S/H. They make "scientific" claims that have no backing. If they are backed by actual studies, they do not cite them, and spend quite a bit of their focus bashing other methods of rearing an infant. I consider this a decent manual for hospital - month 1.
| | Amazing!! by K. Suksdorf (Vancouver, Wa) 5 Stars March 04, 2009 This book was by far the best premature information book. My daughter was born at 27 weeks and this book explained everything from the heart surgery to the best way to build a good relationship with the nurses. The information is layed out in a way that makes it easy to read here and there. Everything is described in simple comprehendable terms. An absolutely must have if you are going through the nicu experience!!
| | It was just what the Doctor ordered!! by M. Sheard (Florida) 5 Stars December 15, 2008 I bought this book for my niece. Her son was born 3 months premature
and had many complications. She told me the book was extremely helpful
to her in the first few weeks of his life.
| | Very good guide by GrannyPat (Arkansas, USA) 5 Stars September 04, 2008 A very good guide to help with the challenges of having a preemie. Straight talk, but doesn't dwell on the negative.
