| wounds galore... by marie (California) 5 Stars May 02, 2009 This is an excellent, thorough book on wounds. As a wound nurse, I highly recommend this book if you want to learn about wounds, acute and chronic.
| | THE book for the CWCN exam by Karen A. Griffin 5 Stars February 23, 2009 When I was preparing for my CWCN exam I kept looking for the book that would be most helpful. This was back when the 2nd edition of this book was out. I read a review where someone said this was the most helpful book for the exam. And they were so right! It remains so today. This is the book you need to prepare for the CWCN exam. You will highlight almost the whole book while you are studying. It really is the best. Using this book, along with periodicals and a review course (which can frequently be purchased as a CD from the WOCN conference) will get you through. I got a score equivalent to a 92% on my CWCN exam and also found the book to give me a comprehensive understanding of wound care. Not just what to do, but the reasons and AP (anatomy and physiology) behind it. It is a traditional "textbook" type of book so some of it is hard going. But don't skip over anything because every bit of it is useful.
