| Great Information by D. Grubbs (Pensacola, FL) 5 Stars June 28, 2009 I am a new dialysis RN, with 15+ years in the medical field. I got the original version of this book from my charge nurse. I brought it home and searched for an up to date version (the other was 1999.) I couldn't find it so I started to read the one I had. It was well laid out starting from the history of dialysis through all the general information I needed to get a good idea of what I was doing. Once I finished the book I came back to Amazon to find something else and found this version. Currently I'm reading the "Review of dialysis..." but I have looked over this edition. I see familiar and new information as well as some great photos and graphs to bring the information out for the visual learner. I plan to read this edition cover to cover next. If you are looking for a moderate depth, beyond Tech level, but easy enough for a newcomer to dialysis, this is the book for you!!! If you are a Tech with a little medical background and want to know more than the typical tech... this book will teach you the information you are looking for in a way that helps you understand WHY you do things... not just the "when this beeps, push this button" mentality I was taught from.
