| Great book by Alison Bonar (Surrey, B.C., Canada) 5 Stars September 12, 2009 I fone is studying philosophy, literature, anthropology, history or religion, this book could be a tremendous help. It covers symbols from all cultures and describes their uses and effect. Lots of diagrams and easy to follow.
| | Good but not what I was looking for. by G. Taylor 3 Stars May 12, 2009 Entries are very good and informative for cultural studies. I was interested in it for dream analysis where it was not as good, although it is a tall order to cover a scope so wide. For instance, I thought there would be something symbolic for digging a hole or flying perhaps, but to no avail. Maybe I haven't got the right book and need one with the word 'Dreams' in the title somewhere.
| | Not deep enough by R. Jordan Greenhall 2 Stars April 21, 2008 Covers a lot of territory, but nothing meaningful. If you are new to being alive in the west and need to get up to speed on some basic notions of what various symbols mean, this is a useful reference. But if you are looking to get a deep read, this doesn't cut it.
