Saving my life! by Dayna Wagner (Michigan) 4 Stars
March 06, 2009
I was diagnosed with PCOS 15 years ago and have tried everything under the sun to get help. I've been to countless doctors and no one could help because there is no cure for PCOS. Everyone told me the same thing: lose weight. If you have PCOS, you know this is virtually impossible. No matter what I tried, the scale would not budge. I bought this book, and for 2 weeks I have been following the diet, excercise and mental wellness advice, and I have lost 13 lbs!!! I have not been able to lose as much as 5 lbs for 15 years, but suddenly, this book makes it easy to understand the sensitive nutritional mine-field I was walking on. The only reason it only gets 4 stars from me, is that the book is apparently written in the UK and I don't understand some of the terms and foods. Overall, a real life saver- Thank You!!!

This is the same information your docor will tell you. Eat less carbs, exercise more and homiopathic remedies are unproven. All in all not very useful. If you have PCOS I'm sure you've already been told all this. If you just want to understand what your sister or friend is going through it cost less to look it up online. I gave it one star because at least the information is correct.

a great reference by S. Jackson (California) 5 Stars

This is a great book. I've only read part of it so, far but already it's an easy to use referance. There are other PCOS books I have gotten that are too scientificto understand easily and seem to be more for the British then US audiences. This book is for both, easy to understand and full of fantastic tips to alleviate symptoms and to bring up with your dr. This diesease is such a pain to deal with it's nice to have a good referance like this. I would highly recommend it.
