| A Practical Field Manual for QC by S. Kraut (Minneapolis, MN) 5 Stars September 29, 2009 For beginners, this book is great for helping you wrap your head around the whole Quality/TQM process - it provides a good base of knowledge from which to springboard your efforts. For a seasoned Quality professional, this is a must-have field manual (aka quick-reference guide) providing resources/references at your fingertips.
| | Fairly good, but not worth 5 stars by Ö. Gíslason (TX, USA) 3 Stars April 24, 2009 This book is fairly good, but not worth the 5 stars I see it's given here. It barely covers the basics, but spends too much effort increasing the word count and therefore payments to the others. There is no need to point out you need to read the previous section to get further information about a topic mentioned. That happens a few times.
| | The best all around guide to Quality Control by Steven E. Baker (SE Texas) 5 Stars March 26, 2008 I helped implement TQM (Total Quality Management) back in the 1990's at an industrial manufacturing complex. We lived and breathed the principles and had quite a few success stories before the site was sold and new management style was introduced and TQM went out the door.
After that, quality assurance was relegated to a book on the shelf that we would point to when asked if we had a quality plan.
I left the site in 2000. Last week I used this book to prepare for an interview I had with another large company wanting to implement a quality program in a division that hasn't ever really followed a real quality program.
I used this book to prep myself on all the new terms and concepts, and together with my real world experience I was able to ace the interview and secure the job.
| | Get started in Quality Control by Jorge Escalante (Lima, Peru) 4 Stars October 20, 2007 If you don't know what Quality Control tool you've to use, this is your book. It introduce you in a simple way to the main QC tools. I recommend this book for people who want to get started in quality control technics.
| | Real world application by Scott Martin 5 Stars July 14, 2007 I have used this book for testing our Quality Control process as we design and install our software applications. I found this book very helpful in my work.

| SPC Simplified: Practical Steps to Quality by Robert T. Amsden (Author), Davida M. Amsden (Author), Howard E. Butler (Author)
This best-seller is now newly updated to reflect the changing environment in manufacturing organizations - including the changing roles of operators or line workers, the use of cross-functional teams to solve problems and the shift away from quality control departments and toward total quality management systems. The formula that works so well for SPC Simplified has been untouched - it's still a hands-on manual with practice problems in each module. Written in clear language, it...
