Now updated and expanded, this new edition includes detailed information on the most recent advances in the field, incorporating a vast amount of new cytogenetic as well as molecular genetic data from the latest basic and clinical investigations. Edited by two leading authorities, who are now aided by a panel of internationalexperts, this new edition has been updated to include: Greatly expanded coverage of solid tumors Enhanced coverage of acute and chronic myeloproliferative disorders The latest findings on acute and chronic lymphoproliferative disorders Cancer Cytogenetics, Third Edition is a valuable resource for researchers in a wide range of fields, including cytogenetics, medical and molecular genetics, cellular and molecular biology, oncology, and hematology. With its complete coverage of thecytogenetic mechanisms underlying neoplasia, and always with a keen eye on the clinical consequences of the various acquired genetic aberrations, this text will alsobe an indispensable reference for all clinicians involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. |

| Still the best reference by Tyler Barbour (CA, USA) 5 Stars March 13, 2009 My thesis advisor insisted that I had to read this book. It's been almost 10 years and I keep going back to it. It's a gem!
| | A staple in our lab by Barbara E. Jones (Royal Oak, MI USA) 5 Stars February 21, 2003 As of early 2003, it is still the most-used reference in our cytogenetics lab when we analyze bone marrow or tumor samples. We can use it for guidance as we begin analyzing a sample and once we find abnormalities, we can learn what genes are likely at work. I truly hope there is a revised edition in the works!

| Cytogenetics, FISH and Molecular Testing in Hematologic Malignancies by Wojciech Gorczyca (Author)
Cytogenetics, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and molecular tests, especially polymerase chain reaction (PCR), play an important role in the management of patients with hematologic malignancies by helping to establish the diagnosis, as well as predict prognosis, response to treatment and disease progression. Chromosomal and molecular abnormalities provide the most reliable criteria for classification of hematopoietic tumors and often comprise the basis for targeted...
