| Should have ordered it a lot sooner!!! by Leonard A. Peterson (Phoenix, OR USA) 5 Stars September 29, 2009 After suffering insomnia for many years and sensitive to sleeping pills which kept me awake, I switched to natural sleep aids. They didn't work either. So, I went to a Sleep Center and was evaluated. I found that I had mild sleep apnea. This book was recommended to me by one of the CPAP technicians. I read it from cover to cover and wished I had found it 20 years ago. It is extremely informative, and should be read before evaluations even take place. Then one would know what to expect. All is well, and I am sleeping comfortably 7 hours a night with a lot more energy during the day. I don't even need my usual nap time in the afternoons. Everyone with a sleep problem needs this book.

| | Pretty Pleased With My Order by a literary reader (san francisco) 5 Stars September 06, 2009 I was pretty pleased with my order from amazon.com. It came within about a week and was in good condition as described. I also liked the low, affordable price of the book. The book looks to be very helpful for those suffering from severe insomnia. I bought the book for my boyfriend and hopefully, this will help him out.
| | Clear, Informative, Morale-boosting Book by St. Cecilia 5 Stars June 08, 2009 I had a severe problem with insomnia and when tested in a sleep lab, found that I had a severe problem with OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea.) Treatment for this was necessary: a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure device,) which I have used ever since. But I found that simply learning about sleep and being able to understand it as a process with many variables, made a hugh difference in how I felt about having sleep problems and having OSA. The information is provided with a lot of emotional support and practical suggestions and I found that this helped my morale, even before my sleep improved. I found that sleeping problems deleteriously affected my morale and quality of life a lot and anything which helped that to improve felt like a life-saver.
| | Understand Your Sleep Problems by Michael P. Gruszka 5 Stars May 02, 2009 Like anything else, you are in a better position to conquer insomnia once you understand it better. This book not only explores strategies to overcome insomnia, difficulty falling asleep, and difficulty staying asleep, but it gives you a better understanding of human sleep patterns, and things or behaviors to avoid. This book was recommended to me by a certified sleep specialist physician, it is an EXCELLENT book, and I only wish it I found it years ago.
| | An authoritive, effedtive, comprehensive guide tested in my work. by James Minard (Spokane Valley, WA) 5 Stars February 27, 2009 No More Sleepless Nights is a tested and effective book now available in many forms: Kindle book, paperback, etc. It has been perfected over the years. Dr. Hauri started with a softcover for UpJohn. It was distributed to physicians, but quickly became the most widely read source of information on sleep and its disorders. It revealed Dr. Hauri's gift for concise, comprehensive, effective communication. I used its section on sleep hygiene with almost all sleep disorder patients for 25 years. They generally benefitted. Dr. Hauri had one of the world's first sleep disorder centers, so the book he finally wrote is based on experience that dwarfs that of the reporters, people with sleep disorders and nearly all other sleep disorder experts who have written competing books. His book went through two editions and further testing when he became the expert you'd be likely to see at the Mayo Clinic. The book is more comprehensive than its title would indicate. It provides a foundation for reading other, more specialized books or consulting physicians at a sleep disorder center. I've referred many with sleep problems to the book. They've generally been satisfied.
