EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Graduate-level text assembles, interprets, and interrelates contributions to field of composite materials from theoretical research, lab developments, and product applications. Focuses on continuum mechanics aspects of behavior; specifically, it invokes idealized geometric models of heterogeneous system for theoretical predictions of macroscopic properties in terms of individual constituent materials. 1979 edition. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 5.0 based on 3 reviews)
| Good book by Vladimir B. Gantovnik (Charlotte, NC USA) 5 Stars April 03, 2008 Buy this book if you are doing research in micromechanics of composites. Cheap, interesting... like everything from Dover!
| | Micromechanics of composites by Parul Agrawal (Purdue University, USA) 5 Stars January 28, 2000 I came across this book while doing research on micromechanics of particulate composites for my PhD work. It is an excellent book for reference. It describes the work of various reseacher in a very simple, straight-forward fashion. Someday I would like to own it but at this point cannot afford the price.

| Mechanics Of Composite Materials (Materials Science & Engineering Series) by Robert Jones (Author)
This book balances introduction to the basic concepts of the mechanical behavior of composite materials and laminated composite structures. It covers topics from micromechanics and macromechanics to lamination theory and plate bending, buckling, and vibration, clarifying the physical significance of composite materials. In addition to the materials covered in the first edition, this book includes more theory-experiment comparisons and updated information on the design of composite materials.
