EDITORIAL REVIEWS

Product Description
Featuring ten sleepy dinosaurs, this adorable picture book from prize-winning writer Jane Yolen and best-selling illustrator Mark Teague celebrates the funny, endearing, naughty bedtime behavior of young children... and young dinosaurs.

Amazon.com Review
"How does a dinosaur say good night when Papa comes in to turn off the light? Does a dinosaur slam his tail and pout? Does he throw his teddy bear all about? Does a dinosaur stomp his feet on the floor and shout: 'I want to hear one book more!'? DOES A DINOSAUR ROAR?" Most certainly not. Dinosaurs give their mommies and daddies big hugs and kisses, tuck their tales in, and whisper "Good night!" Every sleepy little dinosaur will recognize the tricks of the trade in these bedtime shenanigans. The chuckle factor is sky-high here, with giant, full-page pictures of cleverly identified Tyrannosaurus rexes, triceratopses, and Pteranodons. A variety of human mothers and fathers trying to put their dinosaur children to bed will bring the point home that the story may have something to do with human kid behavior as well. This good-natured nighttime book is sure to be a winner (even though it might inspire a few noisy dinosaur antics), especially as it's written by Jane Yolen, prolific Caldecott Medalist author of Owl Moon. Yolen and Mark Teague have teamed up to create a fun, silly, playful read-aloud. (Ages 3 to 7) --Emilie Coulter

2 yr old son loves it 5 Stars

Of course he's into dinosaurs right now but he wants to read it before bedtime and goes to sleep right after.

Dinosaurs by Steven C. Thedford (Atlanta) 5 Stars
July 09, 2009
The book uses questions during the first part of the book to tell the story. The picture vividly portray the questions. The story plays on people fears of dinosaurs. For example, one image has a dinosaur roaring. Yet, the book has dinosaurs doing the things that many kids do when they go to bed such as pouting, throwing teddy bears around, and having a piggy back rides. Yet, in the end they become sweet pussy cats, just like most kids before they go to bed.

My toddler loves it by L. Zaglin (PA, United States) 5 Stars

My toddler loves the Jane Yolen's dinosaur books. This one is our favorite. Was a staple for quite sometime as bedtime reading. Good for a child who doesn't want to go to bed, as he hears about appropriate vs. inappropriate behavior at bedtime in a fun way. He knows the book by heart and makes appropriate noises at certain spots (roaring, etc.). It's fun for both of us.

Great book! by Mom on the Farm (Kansas, USA) 5 Stars

Our girls (2 & 3 years) love this book! We've had it for at least 6 months, and they still request this one before bedtime. We make motions & sounds for every page, and they just grin & giggle. I'm anxious to try some of the other "How Do Dino..." books.

One of my Grand daughter's favorite books by Patricia Ann (Florida) 5 Stars

My almost 3 year old grand daughter came for a visit last month and I bought her this book. After reading it to her one time, it became her favorite book. The illustrations were excellent, as was the text. She quickly called it her "silly scary" book. After a few nights of reading, she had the book memorized. I would highly recommend this book.
